After starting publishing our Malware and Phishing Risk Levels in the middle of last year, we now started to add and combine data from other sources we have: the spamtraps.
We collect new emails containing Spam, Malware and Phishing 24 hours per day. By analyzing these emails in realtime, we are able to “get the pulse” of the online world better (actually, a small part of the online world). So, it makes sense to add an indicator which reflects what’s going on right now in the email area.
That’s why we would like to introduce a new Risk Level indicator for Spam. The 5 levels have the same meaning as described in the original article. They are dependent on the amount of emails we see in the 30 days time interval.
For an easier overview of the current overall threat, we now created a combined meter called “Global”.
The “Global” meter is the average of the three meters measuring the Phishing, Malware and Spam activity.
From now on we will publish only the Global risk level. When you click on it, you will be redirected to a page containing the risk levels for all threats, including the Global one.
